Make-up air replaces exhausted air with tempered, filtered supply so your space stays balanced. Proper ventilation prevents negative pressure, odour backdrafts, and door-sucking drafts, while protecting combustion appliances. We size, install, and commission make-up air systems to maintain code-compliant airflow, stable building pressure, and comfortable workplaces across Delta and Greater Vancouver.

Yes. Within our service area we maintain and repair kitchen make-up air units and associated exhaust so ventilation stays safe and consistent. We check belts, filters, bearings, controls, and verify airflow. When needed, Apple Tree Gas & Heating replaces rooftop components and coordinates crane lifts and permits in your quote.

We balance supply and exhaust with calibrated instruments, target 0.4–0.8 w.c. total static where applicable, and record readings. For HRV/ERV we set flows, confirm defrost and controls, and provide a closeout sheet. This documented commissioning proves your ventilation and make-up air system performs as designed.

We plan work during business hours, stage parts in advance, and sequence shutdowns to minimise downtime. Same-day repairs are available until 6 p.m. when booking is open. For urgent ventilation issues we prioritise plan members. Holiday visits are optional and carry a $100 surcharge.

Our core zone includes Delta, Surrey, Vancouver, Langley, New Westminster, Burnaby, and Port Coquitlam. We travel beyond the core for commercial ventilation projects; a $100 travel fee applies outside the zone and is quoted up front. This keeps make-up air service predictable and transparent.

We include permit fees as a line item in the quote, pay them up front, and schedule all inspections. Our team coordinates any required gas or mechanical permits tied to your ventilation or make-up air scope, then closes out with documented airflow readings and any load-calculation summaries requested by the city.

For replacements, we usually install within 1–2 weeks of your quote. Special-order parts for ventilation or make-up air may take 1–4 weeks. We carry common components locally to reduce delays and keep your site operating. Quote validity is 3 months for planning certainty.

Yes. Commercial clients can enrol in a fixed-price service contract: two visits per year, both including filter changes and one including inspection and service. Parts are excluded. This proactive ventilation plan improves reliability, helps maintain balanced make-up air, and secures priority scheduling during peak breakdown periods.

Our Burnaby grocery store had warm aisles and fogged entry doors when the weather changed. Apple Tree Gas & Heating diagnosed make-up air control faults, replaced filters, set schedules, and tuned airflow so the store held neutral pressure. Same-day service during business hours kept us trading. The written ventilation report was useful for our records and future maintenance planning too.

Our Delta restaurant had doors that were hard to open and smoke rolling into the dining room whenever the hoods ran. Apple Tree Gas & Heating inspected the kitchen make-up air, replaced worn belts and filters, set the controls, and balanced exhaust with supply. They shared a commissioning sheet with airflow readings. Negative-pressure ventilation issues disappeared and the line cooks noticed the difference immediately.
Samuel Price
At our Surrey fabrication shop we had odours drifting inside whenever the paint booth exhausted. Apple Tree Gas & Heating recommended a rooftop make-up air replacement, coordinated the crane and permits, and completed the install within two weeks of the quote. The final report listed airflow and static pressure, and the space now stays neutral. This TECA-informed ventilation work solved a persistent problem.
Priya Caldwell
Our Vancouver office build-out needed ERV commissioning before handover. Apple Tree Gas & Heating balanced supply and exhaust, verified defrost and control settings, and documented 0.6 w.c. total static within the target range. They scheduled the inspection and included the model/serial list and startup checklists. The team was precise, tidy, and clear about maintenance. HRV/ERV commissioning made closeout fast too.
